Half of doubling techs feel useless
"I’ve been analyzing the tech tree and noticed a missed opportunity for true optimization. Initially, I hoped new tech would allow me to reduce the number of assemblers in my production line, making it more efficient. However, because the 'double cutter' tech simply doubles the output without changing the machine requirements, it doesn't actually 'unmess' or optimize the line—it just scales it up.
Since copying and pasting lines is easy, I’m only limited by belts and resources, making the tech feel like a cheap 'double production' buff rather than a meaningful design choice. I would prefer tech that forces me to rethink my layout. For example:
Advanced Buildings: An 'Advanced Cutter' that replaces multiple operators/machines to save space and complexity.
Conditional Doubling: A building that must be connected to another to double output, forcing me to decide if the extra footprint is worth the gain.

BearWhat makes the whole speed upgrade thing uncomfortable that they are divided into different shard upgrades. You can buy belt and cutter speed upgrade, but monotoner and painter upgrade far ahead. It feels useless. Sure, I can redesign all my production lines, knowing, that later on, I can redesign it back - or I can just wait together all of the speed bonus, and buy it together.
I learnt the lession at the grey-blue shift, and I am just not buying anything at the blue-yellow shift.
I would make one big upgrade package: put all of the production speed ones into one unlockable. The drone, freight, island crossing lift, dye mixer can be separate, but production shouldnt be.
