I think it makes sense for splitters to be a bit inconvenient so building with them becomes challenging, but a "big splitter" of sorts is also something I enjoy (I was thinking like a 1x5 machine with 1 input on the short side and 4 output on the long one or something like that so that it stays at least a little bit inconvenient) -

The only ArnoIt woud be nice to have an advanced splitter that only take one block, so you can go in any direction.
One input and three outputs. -

Tiago GuinhosWhat about a splitter that which instead of having the input in the back it could have the input by one of the sides?

kyroI'd be happy with a splitter that still only has two outputs but only takes up one tile (a la Satisfactory)

themightygugiA splitter that can accept Two inputs and still have two outputs would be a blessing. It would make it much more compact to build instead of having to tunnel all the time to merge resource belts.

Samah2-in-2-out would allow for load balancing. If one input belt is at 120u/m and the other at 60u/m, it would balance it to two belts of 90u/m. There's no reason split/merge couldn't be rolled into a single machine that handles 1-to-3, 2-to-2 (load balancing), and 3-to-1. You could add filters and priorities too, even if it needs to be an advanced splitter.

SamahAlthough I think themightygugi was implying they wanted a single block tunnel where opposite edges are connected.

JeronT-splits would be absolutely amazing. Especdially if you can choose input side (from the "leg" or from a side). As a fan of hyper-compact builds, I lost count of how often I couldn't fit my design in a perfect profile because of lack of a single free tile to put those turn-around connecting belts.
I'm hammering this "vote" btn with both hands.
Also, Factorio-like 2-input 2-output splitters are worth consideration. They are a very powerful tool on its own, they also boost compactness, and what's especially important – it will allow to apply all of the Factorio's knowledgebase about belt balancers to this game. Might attract some additional audience)
